Health is the ultimate wealth. Prudential is encouraging communities across Asia to be healthier and more active with PRURide - local cycling events for people of all fitness levels.
PRURide in Asia builds on the success of Prudential RideLondon, which attracts thousands of participants annually. The 2019 RideLondon events drew more than 100,000 riders and raised £11.5 million for charity, bringing the total raised for good causes to more than £77 million in the first seven years of the world’s greatest festival of cycling.
In 2019, about 3,000 professional and recreational cyclists successfully pedaled their way to the finish line of PRURide PH, the Philippines’ biggest cycling festival held at Harbor Point, Subic.
Apart from competitive events like the Masters Race and Stage Race, PRURide PH also offered activities suitable for everyone like the Gran Fondo in 30, 60, and 100 kilometers. In the Virtual Race finals, the top 10 finalists from qualifying rounds around Metro Manila battled it out for the shortest time cycling a 5.7 kilometer course on a stationary bike. Families enjoyed friendly competition as children aged two to six took part in Strider Cup finals using no-pedal bikes.
Prudential Indonesia also held its inaugural PRURide in Yogyakarta in December. The largest sports festival in the country featured a series of fun-filled lifestyle activities and attractions to thrill cycling enthusiasts.
Professional cyclists competed in the 120 km Gran Fondo and 60 km Medio Fondo, while beginners and families signed up for the Fun Ride. Around 3,000 participants competed on a track that presented various challenges and passed through various iconic spots in Yogyakarta, including Parangtritis Beach, Gunung Sewu Geopark and the Wayang Wukirasari Village.
